![]() Announcements - Rules - Clarifications - Character Creation - Backgrounds - Combat - Disciplines The Undernet The Undernet, a small bloodline of techno-vamps, actually traces its roots back to the Stoics of 300 BC. Sences, childe of Troile, embraced these Greek philosophers into clan Brujah over a period of 100 years. Few were the rants where their speeches failed to inspire not only kindred, but mortals as well. Seeking a release from the hateful blood curse of Brujah, and the destruction it caused, the Stoics left Greece for Italy when Sences moved to Carthage. The virtues that had made them great philosophers in life became a salvation in unlife, as well. The Stoics refined their beliefs of passionless benevolence and intellectual stability into a Discipline that protected from within and without. Unfortunately, all great things must come to an end and so did the Stoics. The Roman Stoic revival four hundred years later caused the final death of most of the Coterie. Malkavians, jealous of the intellectual clout they had, and their mass appeal, destroyed the Stoics' leader, Heraclitus, and drove him insane. His Beast broke free and he killed his best friends. The only survivors were his torpor'd wife, Megali, and a shy childe , Marcus Aelius Aurelius Antoninus. Marcus Aurelius became the Emperor of Rome and ruled for as long as he could, but the pressures of maintaining Rome's golden age became too much for the philosopher king. He faked his death, fled to outskirts of the empire and became a master of traveling, living one life after another. Although he grew as powerful as any kindred, he always remained a shy soul, fearful of the vampires of other clans. When the Inquisition came, Marcus went underground, literally. His torpor lasted centuries, for he had foreseen the end of all the vampires and was happy to let it happen. He awoke in the 15th century to find the renaissance well underway. He was amazed at what the humans had done, although disappointed to find the vampires had adapted and survived. Marcus traveled first to Italy, then France, becoming a scholar. In France, he met several Toreador who enlightened him to the ways of the Camarilla. Here he also met Megali, for the first time in a thousand years. Although he thought her dead, and buried her when he was first embraced, he was ecstatic to see her. She had taken the trappings of the conservative Brujah, but they soon found in each other a peace the rest of the world could not offer. Their relationship lasted centuries, and eventually the came to America, as Europe had gotten crowded. Marcus was obsessed with innovation. Megali could only watch uncomprehendingly as he would carry on about telescopes and printing presses. He was driven to find a way to apply the Stoicism they shared to this world that was changing rapidly. By the early 20th century Marcus was developing a theory of Ages. He felt that a new age would be dawning, and he wanted to pave a place for himself and Megali. Nearly all his time was spent developing a new concept of knowledge and wisdom. He moved to California, where he began embracing mortals, so they could work with him on this project. Megali was fearful of the Anarchs, for neither she nor Marcus could stand up to them if they came in full force. Marcus was coordinating efforts to advance Information technology in concert between the space program, the emerging computer technologies and Hollywood when the Anarchs destroyed him. His three childer, a new bloodline altogether, and the only "Masters" of Kindred Data Power are missing Two were unlocatable to date. One was taken by the Sabbat who assisted the raid. Megali is missing and presumed alive, however, she had only learned the first levels of KDP. It is not believed that she has any interest in the Next Age Project, and was only humoring her lover." The Italian man stood at perfect attention, not blinking, not breathing. His diatribe complete, the gentleman let his mind blank as completely as possible. The Undernet are rumored to be the descendants of the Brujah or the latest pet project of the Tremere. Avid computer users and techno-junkies, this bloodline is assumed to be, at most, 10 years old. They seem to be doing their best to get along with the Camarilla, however they are planning quietly. Although they say that the world is not ready for the next age, they may hold the keys to a new existence for all Kindred. Originating probably in the West Coast of America, these often-geeky hackers have begun to rapidly proliferate, for there is no place where they cannot use a modem. Nickname: Hackers, Net Disciplines: Celerity, Coherence, KDP Advantage: All Undernet are adroit hackers, and begin with one free level of Computer Ability. Disadvantage: Undernet must spend a great deal of time keeping up with technology, and prefer communicating online. When socializing "In Real Life" they are Naive and Shy. The Undernet Antitribu A very small bloodline in Sabbat, The Undernet here have shaken off most of the problems of their Camarilla counterparts, only to find new problems. Despite efforts they have taken to differentiate themselves from their Camarilla counterparts, they factions spend more time together than the Nosferatu from both sects, in endless online debate and flame-wars. Fancying themselves as pirates, the Undernet Antitribu have generally taken a rakish, nearly outlandish attitude. The are usually acting out, being hedonists and show stealers. Occasionally, the Undernet Antitribu get the respect they deserve, for they are actually masters of industrial espionage, battle tactics and subversive propaganda. Advantage: Undernet Antitribu begin with either Finance Influence they have "liberated", or with Media Influence. Disadvantage: Undernet Antitribu are always Tactless and Condescending. Note: Undernet Antitribu
seem to have no knowledge of the approaching future their Camarilla counterparts
