Vance Astrovik Vance Astrovik was born January 15th, 1952. He had a normal childhood until November 22, 1963 when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. This senseless act of violence against a man he and nearly everyone he knew looked up to made young Vance question why such things could happen. This quest for 'the truth' drove Vance to journalism. Graduating with honors, he worked for the Washington Post from 1975 to 1986. Constantly in the shadow of Woodward and Bernstein (Watergate) he took up the presses rallying cry of "The people DESERVE to know the truth!" as his sword and shield in the search for 'the truth'. This drive to learn 'the truth' led Vance deeper into the world of darkness. First, he encountered the Mages. These men, working deep within the government saw a resource to be exploited and offered Vance 'the truth'. He jumped at the chance and got sucked in. Months later, Vance was investigating a potential vice-president when he was ... introduced to Roland Taggart. Before the sun rose again, Vance had been embraced as a Tremere. Realizing that he couldn't work for a daily paper in his ... condition, he quit the Post and applied to the Weekly World News as a freelance reporter. Vance believed, correctly, that if anyone wanted to bury the bizarre truth, he could have it published in the WWN. No one would credit a story in the WWN as truth by any stretch of the imagination. Before too long, he Conditioned his editor to let him publish anything he needed and to help with info when he could. Basing himself in Lancaster, to learn from his sire, he spent several years in the city. Vance discovered the freedom of eternal life and realized he had much to offer. Vance has offered to place stories that people need buried in the WWN for favors and services, but honestly never calls for the favors return. He takes joy in clouding the little 'truth' from the waking world. Among all the children of the night, this is a tremendous benefit for all concerned. He also relented in the quest for 'the truth'. Vance's philosophy became 'Enjoy life and do everything you can, and the truth will find you.' To this end, Vance returned to childhood loves, like comic books, cartoons (including anime), poetry, writing for pleasure, Godzilla movies, and just living un-life to it's fullest. In late 1996, Vance
narrowly escaped a cataclysm that destroyed almost the kindred in the
city. He decided that was a sign to move on and has moved to Pottstown,
just outside of Reading. Vance has no idea where Roland is, but is sure
that he survived the destruction and Vance is looking for him (and a good
party)
