ANGUS Real Name: Angus
MacGregor Angus was embraced in 1986 by a Gangrel known as Bjorn in woods of Humbolt county, Caifornia. Little is known about the details of Angus' prior life as a mortal given the fact that his recollection seems hazy and fragmentary at best. Even what little detail he remembers he has refused to discuss, and when anyone has approached Bjorn about the matter, Bjorn has simply told them to ask Angus himself. Angus views his embrace in the terms of a spiritual death and rebirth, implying the only hint of his mortal life by admiting that it was very different from what he considers to be his more 'aware' current state. Forever the naturalist, Angus is most at home in the wilds and lived in relative isolation for almost his first decade, the only consistent contact with other kindred being that of his sire and his step-brother Thorn. During this time, he developed an understanding and reverence for Nature on his wanderings and would occasionally join his two companions in fighting incursions of Sabbat in Northern Califonia, further honing his hunting skills. In 1996, Angus made his attempt at joining society when he arrived in Pacific Grove, CA where Thorn had recently taken up residence. A newcomer and relatively minor player, Angus simply followed his step-brother for the first few months and observed the prodigious amounts of political posturing and backstabbing that occurred in the domain. The pair had already discussed their dissatisfaction with standard vampiric attitudes and practices, and when a like-minded Brujah named Jack Graves joined them, the first stages of the soon to be globe-spanning fellowship of the still unnamed LGGVCA were set into motion. Since then, Angus has struggled to uphold the ideals that were laid down as the foundation of the Legion, and gradually began taking more active roles in the leadership and diplomacy of the Legion. After Thorn announced his intention to go on walkabout, Angus shouldered the responsibility of being the unofficial leader of the entire Legion, and became Regional Commander in Monterey. Surprisingly, after returning to the same area that once scorned them, the core Legionaires founded a booming chapter that became as influential as the official city government, leading ambassadors from outside groups to often consult Angus before approaching the Prince. After a series of apocalyptic events transpired in the domain, Angus was again forced to flee the city or face his death. True to his stubborn nature, he returned once the danger had clearly subsided and found a new domain formed in the wake of the destruction. It didn't take Angus long to establish himself within the new domain and he was soon negotiating with the local werewolves on behalf of the vampire populace. The impresson that he had made on the local Kindred was made evident when he was asked to assume the position of Prince by the Primogen council after they had removed a Prince that had proven too weak. Believing himself one of the few capable of holding the position, Angus agreed, and vowed to himself to display the strength that many of his predecessors had lacked. His first test of leadership came just weeks after his installment when the city's Ventrue and Tremere (who apparently couldn't stomach the thought of a Gangrel Prince) put forth their own candidate and staged a coup that ended in the death of the Tremere pretender to the Princedom. In the following weeks, Angus found himself pressured by demands from a Camarilla council that he relinquish control of the domain to the Prince of San Francisco. In response, Angus declared his domain independent of the Camarilla and refused subsequent offers and threats from the Sabbat, therefore snubbing both of the Sects. Each Sect then marched armies upon Monterey in an effort to take control of it only to find that the other had the same idea. Meanwhile, the resident Kindred left the city, letting the two armies annihilate each other. Satisfied that neither side would be able to muster another well-sized force for some time, Angus returned and reinstated himself as Governor of the Free State of Monterey. In appearance, Angus
is of slightly above-average height and build with sandy hair grown past
his shoulders and his once hazel eyes have recently developed a red sheen.
His standard apparel (and he doesn't change his clothes often) consists
of blue jeans, t-shirt, combat boots, leather jacket, and a tartan flannel
shirt tied around his waist. As a constant reminder of the Beast that
is so close to him, he speaks in a low growl that was probably one of
the first effects of the Gangrel weakness to take hold after his embrace.
